We are very thrilled to have been awarded silver award from the taste of the west awards , this was for our 70g raw sea salt, After the years of putting the business together and the way the past 12 mth has been launching our first products it has all been worth it and great to have an award within less than 10 months of launching .

For the first time Devon has its own sea salt producer , Totally natural , Totally sustainable and fully made by nature .
After more than 4 years of putting the business together Today we can finally say we are open for business . the online shop is fully stocked and ready for our first customers . 
Its been a long time coming but to say we have finally done it is something we have waited so long to able to say .

One job that we have been doing while we await the EH inspection and during lock down was to get our work boat in to the dry , get her cleaned up and treat her to an over all freshen up  , she is probably the most important part of our venture and gives us the ability to find the cleanest and best seawater possible , often going over 2 miles off shore to do so , we also have to arrange our collections to coincide with the correct tidal and weather conditions for water collecting to ensure only the very best ingredient go to produce our sea salt .


Next is to refit the water tanks and pump then service the trailer , ready to continue to collect sea water again. 

​Each batch of sea salt produced we use on average 1200 ltr of pure sea water, over the summer months we collect water every 2 weeks and can produce a batch in 3 weeks , over the winter it can be anything up to 12 weeks to get to the crystallization stage of the process and collect water once a month .

We should of launched at the start of April after the mammoth task of completely altering our production methods , although we have not managed to get the final food hygiene inspection in before lock down , so we are still waiting to arrange this once lock down has been relaxed enough for this to be carried out safely  , but in the meantime we have spent the last 6 month,s completely altering the way we produce our salt.

We now only use nature to slowly coax the salt from the local water we collect , wind and sun is all we now need , we have no industrial boilers , no high pressure filtration systems we don't even need electric or fossil fuels. Everything is now dependent on the weather outside as to how long a batch of salt takes to be produced .

We believe we are the only sea salt producer in England to produce salt in such an environmental friendly manner which was one of our main goals when we set out on this venture . With the fantastic weather we have had recently our first batch of solar salt has been produced and from here on we will be producing food grade and non food grade sea salt ( for soap producers etc) . Although we cannot sell our food grade we can now start to take orders for non food grade sea salt , we have a lot of interest from local soap producers and cosmetics producers along with the huge waiting list for our food grade sea salt which hopefully we can start to supply very soon . 

We have been producing our salt for a few years but only for our own use , Over the past 2 years We have been researching how to make the perfect sea salt and how to make our hobby into a business. At the end of 2017 we decided to start putting this in to practice & we have started putting the salt house together and sourcing equipment to bring us in to full production sometime mid 2018. The last month has been put in to getting all permissions and all the legal bit in to place, now we are almost ready to go .We are currently producing micro batches and testing flavour infusions to add to our product list as soon as we ramp up to full production.
